Our Approach

If you're a Hampshire-based parent of a young child with autism and would like support accessing an early intervention programme, you may be eligible for a bursary—please complete our application form.

Building Skills Through Positive Reinforcement

Our Early Intervention programmes incorporate teaching techniques that use positive reinforcement to enable successful learning and shaping of behaviour. By finding rewards that motivate your child and tailoring a programme to their specific needs, early intervention can help children with autism develop communication skills and progress academically.

Confidence Through Structured Learning

By breaking down tasks into manageable stages and using appropriate prompts for an ‘errorless’ teaching experience, our programmes build confidence as well as learning. They also provide a structured way to tackle behavioural and sensory issues, helping your child cope with the day-to-day demands they find challenging.

Support for the Whole Family

Our programmes are a positive experience for the entire family. The benefits of tutor sessions extend into all areas of family life, providing support to create and maintain good family dynamics. Common-sense strategies help you reinforce the sessions in daily life, enabling you to play an active role in your child’s development.

Tracking Progress and Setting New Goals

Everyone can share in a sense of achievement as data gathered in tutor sessions shows real progress and improvement. Regular workshops ensure your programme keeps moving forward, introducing new targets and reinforcing the progress made.

Expert-Led, Evidence-Based Approach

At The Playhouse Foundation, all our consultants are Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) or UKBA Certified. They provide Early Intervention consultancy services and training to schools, pre-schools, and families of individuals with autism and/or challenging behaviours.
